The Circle of Support vision is to provide families in under-served areas of Dallas with high-quality summer learning opportunities for their children in order to minimize summer learning loss while increasing academic, social, and leadership skills.
Circle of Support began as a small summer learning program in 1999 with 36 students. The program was successful and was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2000. The program initially targeted only girls but in 2006, programming for boys was added and the S.M.A.R.T Boys component began to thrive. The program has grown to over 300 participants each summer that are led by a staff of over 52 teachers, teachers assistants and support staff. Although the program site has changed periodically, Circle of Support has always remained within the targated community of South Dallas.
