Martin’s Music Café is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit live music venue hosted in the Fellowship Hall of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Dallas, TX. Held once a month on Friday nights (7:30 PM - 9:30 PM), our concerts create an inviting and intimate setting for music lovers and artists alike.

We celebrate the rich traditions of folk, blues, country, jazz, and American/Texan roots music, providing a welcoming stage for singer-songwriters and talented musicians. Inspired by the legacy of Uncle Calvin’s Coffeehouse (1983-2019), we aim to continue the tradition of offering high-quality, acoustic music performances in a listening-room environment—free from distractions like smoking, alcohol sales, or excessive noise.

Attendees can enjoy a relaxed table-seating experience with a selection of coffees, teas, snacks, and desserts available before the show and during intermission. Whether you're a music enthusiast or simply looking for a warm, inviting night out, we invite you to join us at Martin’s Music Café for an unforgettable evening of live music and community.

The main act is a long-time Texas singer-songwriter named George Ensle. For more than five decades, George has shared his songs and stories with audiences across the country and in Europe, maintaining the essence of the folk tradition, the story-song.  Coming out of the '60s folk music scene in Houston alongside Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and Billie Joe Shaver, George has released 15 albums and been inducted into the Houston Folk Music Archives, the Corpus Christi Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the South Austin Pop Culture Museum.  He has served as Artist-in-the-Schools in economically disadvantaged school districts, and his songwriting has won numerous competitions, including the American Songwriter Festival, the Kerrville Folk Festival, and the Texas Heritage Songwriters Association.  His performances are filled  with wit, wisdom,  grit, and always hope, accompanying  his edgy vocals with intricate fingerstyle guitar, resonator, and keyboard.

Christine Hand Jones is a Fort Worth native who has been performing her soulful folk-rock in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for over twenty years. Rather than the typical country sound of Nashville or the twangy blues of the south, Christine brings a fusion of gospel, country, and folk that lets us imbibe a little Texas. She has also written for the stage, including original songs for local musical theater.  Her lyrical maturity and vocal ingenuity combine with her acoustic folk-rock sound and ethereal and bluesy voice to form a blend as comforting and energizing as your morning coffee.
