The Parable of the Lost Sheep & Lost Coin:  Luke 15: 1-10

Sunday's Gospel lesson reminded us that every one of us is worthy of God's love. Even if we stray from the path God wants us to be on, God will find us to bring us safely into the protection of God's life-giving love. We know this because Jesus tells us the story about the lost sheep and all the effort that was made to find it. Since we know Jesus is our shepherd, we can be sure he knows where to find us if we feel afraid, alone or lost.

Here are a few things we can do this week to remind ourselves of this Bible lesson:

  • If we see a person with a sign along the road asking for money, remember they are lost and say a prayer for them right there in the car.
  • Parents can remind their children that they are never alone and if there is a night light that is used, remind children that it represents the light of Christ, that Jesus is watching over them.
  • Hold hands with someone, or place a hand on their shoulder and remind them you think about them all the time.
  • Don't just worry about someone, place them in God's care by praying for them once a day.

" Dear Lord, help us remember the lost, the least the little and the lonely. Remind us to say 'I love you' and remind us how much you love us." AMEN.
