8:30 & 11:00 AM
Uniting with Christians around the world, we come together as a community for a service of festival worship, anchored around tenets of the Reformation: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone. At 11:00 worship, our newest Confirmation class makes their public profession of faith, beginning a new chapter in their faith journey on this historic day.
Papa Luther Intergenerational Class
Join author Daniel Maurer for an interactive presentation on the graphic novel Papa Luther. The class is designed for all ages and we encourage families to participate together. Plus, each household will receive a complimentary copy of the book! Don’t miss this fun way to learn about Luther, the Reformation, and the process of creating a comic!
Rick Steves Luther and the Reformation
On the 500th anniversary of this pivotal event in European history, Rick Steves travels in the footsteps of Martin Luther, distilling the story of that bold monk, the chaos of the Reformation, and the larger political, economic, and theological context into an engaging, inspiring, and enlightening program. Class will view the public television special (one hour).
Gutenberg Printing Press lecture
Youth and adults are invited to a presentation by Dr. Rusty Maisel who will demonstrate a full-size, working replica of the Gutenberg Printing Press and discuss its role in the Reformation. Presentation will include the display of historic Bibles and other artifacts.
11:00 am to 3:00 pm
It’s been 500 years! You are invited to our Reformation Festival celebrating the freedom and courage to boldly live and share our faith. Join us for an afternoon of music, arts and crafts, storytelling, face painting, food and fun!
